Axway Solutions Receive Additional AS2 Interoperability Certifications as AS2 Restart Initiative Launches

AS2 Restart Seen as Removing Last Obstacle for Transferring Very Large Messages (VLM)

PHOENIX, February 23, 2010 – As part of its commitment to interoperability standards,Axway’s business-to-business (B2B) solutions have garnered additional certification from Drummond Group® for Applicability Statement 2 (AS2) interoperability.  In this latest round of testing, the AS2 Restart draft standard was launched based upon Axway’s solution for transferring very large messages (VLM). The certification also included testing that incorporated Chunked Transfer Encoding (CTE) which allows messages to be split into multiple parts.

Originally co-authored by Axway, AS2 is a messaging standard for B2B e-commerce which forms the basis of communication between organizations in multiple industries. The combination of CTE and AS2 Restart eliminates the problem of sending VLM from one organization to another.

As part of its Business Interaction Networks solutions, Axway offers B2B technology that helps companies efficiently and securely exchange information with trading partners across the Internet.  Axway's certified solutions include:

  • Axway Gateway solutions – Connects with legacy systems and help companies electronically transfer mission-critical data through a central location securely, quickly and efficiently
  • Axway EndPoint solutions – Manages the efficiency of business communications as it is moved through a single-point connection on the Web between businesses

“Our customers turn to us to support their business interactions – and the ability to efficiently and securely transmit information from one place to another is at the very core of what we do,” said Dave Bennett, chief technology officer, Axway. “As such, we continue to work closely with the AS2 community to develop standards that provide adaptability and flexibility.  The AS2 Restart initiative is a great example of our effort to eradicate communication barriers.”
