Axway CTO to Moderate Cloud Computing Event

Discussion to Focus on the Risks and Opportunities Presented by Cloud Computing

PHOENIX, AZ – April 20, 2010 – As part of its leadership on effective cloud computing strategies, Axway’s chief technology officer, Dave Bennett, will be moderating the MIT Enterprise Forum Phoenix’s panel on cloud computing.  The panel will consist of cloud computing luminaries including Salesforce.com’s Peter Coffee, Microsoft’s Joe Shirey and IBM’s Iris Stone.  Axway, the Business Interaction Networks company, recently issued proactive guidelines to ensure the security of sensitive data as organizations look to take advantage of cloud computing.

Cloud computing is bringing about a new set of challenges and opportunities as organizations and individuals change how technology is used.  Organizations that currently employ on-premise technology solutions will need to understand how to shift to a hybrid approach without losing the security and visibility on which they have come to depend.  Organizations that supply IT hardware and software will need to adapt to rapidly evolving customer requirements that will alter the competitive landscape.

“This event will help shed light on a very hot topic in technology – the risks and rewards of cloud computing,” said Bennett.  “Over time, we feel the movement to the cloud will become mainstream.  A hybrid model, combining on-premise and cloud deployments, seems to be the likely outcome.  This will require companies to embrace a new approach to business interactions and trust models.”
