Axway Solidifies Position in Serialization Market with New Release of Axway Track and Trace

Axway Track and Trace Improves Supply Chain Risk Management Through Increased Visibility

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Making it even easier for organizations to pinpoint the location of products at any given time, Axway today issued the latest release of Axway Track and Trace, powered by Synchrony™. Axway Track and Trace enables the secure retrieval, transfer and management of key product data to enable transparency in the supply chain. It has broad applications in the healthcare and consumer goods industries. Providing end-to-end visibility and product authentication services, Axway Track and Trace can reduce the scope of product recalls; aid in detecting counterfeiting, diversion and fraud; and help organizations comply with various drug and food safety regulations.

Axway Track and Trace 2.1 supports EPC Information Services (EPCIS) queries through a new Event Repository. The Event Repository supports all event types specified by the EPCIS standard and proprietary data extensions to capture commissioning, packaging and product movement events. It also captures change of ownership and other financial events to give a complete picture of the product lifecycle.

Axway Track and Trace 2.1 offers the Serial Number Manager as an optional module. Using GS1 standards, it defines the format and allocates unique serial number ranges across multiple locations, making it easier to manage the generation of serial numbers at the enterprise level.

"The Serial Number Manager is vital to our effort to safeguard our patients," said Jim Shuman, Senior Vice President of Materials Management at Genzyme. "As part of our Serial Number Management System (SNMS) initiative, we are allocating unique serial numbers to products manufactured in different locations. The Serial Number Manager helps us ensure each product is given a unique serialization regardless of its origin."

"Whether it’s a healthcare organization looking to protect its supply chain from counterfeit pharmaceuticals or a retailer looking to ascertain the availability of a product, the ability to track products is incredibly powerful," said Joe Fisher, senior vice president of product & solutions marketing, Axway. "We initially developed Axway Track and Trace to address healthcare supply chain security, but it has many uses outside of the healthcare supply chain industry. Ingrained in Axway Track and Trace is our deep expertise in the healthcare and supply chain markets, setting it apart from other generic product tracking solutions."

The Axway Track and Trace 2.1 architecture is comprised of:

  • Synchrony platform
  • Event Repository
  • Serial Number Manager
  • EPCIS query services, ePedigree and other applications
  • Product authentication and diversion detection
  • Dashboards, reports and analytics

Axway Track and Trace 2.1 is part of a suite of products focusing on product serialization, risk management and supply chain visibility, and can be integrated with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
